Students in Unlock, a project-based learning class at Eminence High School, Eminence, Ky., will be traveling with GO InterNational during their Spring break to initiate holistic development principles at a village in Nicaragua.
The process, created by Community Health Evangelism (CHE), teaches local families about community ownership and how to be part of the process in developing an improved quality of life.

The students will conduct a community survey to help the community discover its own assets and needs, do children's ministry and help with a school health assessment. They will experience the value of building relationships and working with the community - not just doing things for them.
The group is led by Jennifer Montgomery, Unlock teacher at Eminence High School, and her husband, Larry, a computer technician for the school and a long-time team leader for GO.
The Unlock class project idea emerged in 2014 when students told the principal that they wanted a class where they could do something hands-on to make a difference globally. This special class was created to educate, empower and equip children and families in impoverished communities around the world in a self-sustaining duplicable way.
