GO Institute prepares future missions leaders

Businesses today are looking for potential employees who have combined their education with real life experience. GO offers this opportunity.

Becca Richards graduated from Asbury University in 2013 and spent the next year in one of GO InterNational's most exciting programs - The Institute for InterNational Leadership.

This program was designed to train the next generation of leaders in Christian ministry and world missions.  This is accomplished through practical hands on experience in international missions, serving the poor, pastor training and economic development.  Key components of the Institute are fundraising and development, program and office administration, and evangelism and world missions.

Becca spent a year in Belfast, Northern Ireland, working at Christian Fellowship Church in a variety of capacities, such as worship teams, leading small groups, planning youth activities, and working with middle school students.  "CFC provides a wonderful atmosphere for children who often don't have positive adult role models," Becca said.  "The program I participated in was like an oasis, providing Christian direction, stability and love."

"The experience certainly changed me," Becca explained. "We had training every morning.  There was preaching, leadership development, worship and healing services. In the beginning, it was difficult getting youth involved.  They were very skeptical.  But, by the end of the year, we had made tremendous progress.  One of my highest points was when one of the girls asked me to baptize her."

"Being at CFC was such a positive growing experience," she said. "I was in a different culture, and definitely out of my comfort zone.  But, it also was in a highly professional, family atmosphere in which I learned leadership in the context of a fun and challenging environment."

"I recommend the GO Institute for InterNational Leadership to everyone."
