Desire is to impact
well beyond the numbers
The numbers were impressive. A GO team served more than 1,400 people with medical care and provided 400 pairs of reading glasses on a mission trip to Nepal Sept. 21 - Oct. 4.  GO partners Babu and Sabitri joined three doctors, three nurses, and three helpers from the United States as well as 18 Nepali pastors and Bible students who translated and evangelized.

"Our work was in a new region for us, south of the partner's base in Hetauda," said Dr. Larry Frick, GO Director of Medical Missions. "In the district where we served, we held seven days of clinics in five different villages. The needs were great, and we were able to meet tremendous needs. However, our desire is for impact that goes well beyond numbers. Our prayer is that the care the people received and the exposure to the truth from the Bible students will be seeds that will take root in the days ahead."

"Even though this was my second medical mission trip, it was my first to Nepal," said nurse Janet McFarland. "I can't wait to return! The people there have a desperate need for medical care and to see the love of God. It was such an honor and a blessing to be able to be God's hand and feet.

"Going to Nepal was truly life changing," she added. "There were times when I was out of my comfort zone, yet I focused on why I was there, remained faithful to His mission, and embraced the challenge."

GO partners plan to return to the Rautahat district later with an evangelistic crusade. "Pray for the people we saw that fruit will come from our time there," Larry continued. "May they see a great harvest as a result of our time there."
