Lisa Wiehe has a new job, and she is very definite in what she hopes to get from it.

She joined the GO InterNational staff in early September as Director of Team Ministries; and her focus will be facilitating and organizing all facets of our domestic and worldwide mission trips. This includes booking travel, room and board, food and recruiting members and partners.

"It's all about the details," she laughs, "and that's what I like." And, she certainly brings the experience to handle all the details. First, she has a business background in office management. That's coupled with being a fulltime missionary for eight years with Youth with a Mission.

In addition, she worked at an orphanage for a year and half in Haiti, where she adopted her now four-year-old daughter, Dini (Bernadine).

Lisa said she first felt called to God's work in missions when she was 19 years old after hearing an evangelist preach at a local church. "I felt that mission work was precisely what I was supposed to be doing for God. But, I have to tell you, I really didn't know what it meant or where it was leading. I just knew I had to be faithful." She chuckled and added that she still isn't positive where God is leading her life, but it's always exciting and rewarding.

So, back to the beginning of the story. What does Lisa want to get out of her new job? "I am looking forward to watching people who go on teams discover who they are and how God made them. We frequently go along and lead our lives. Then we experience something magnificent, like a mission trip, and our lives change. Often the change is so dramatic that people aren't the same. They can't be the same and don't want to be."

"As we take more teams and team members on short-term trips, I'm looking forward to watching individuals grow into all God has for them to be, all the while partnering with others worldwide, sharing the loving gospel of Jesus," she said.
