For the past 30 years, GO InterNational has invested in pastors and church leaders throughout the world by inspiring and encouraging them to respond to the call of God upon their lives.
Larry Cochran, past president of GO, explained, "Our pastor training classes began 30 years ago to encourage and equip leaders to better expand the kingdom of God. We help them experience a new excitement and show them how to work in unity to reach their cities for Christ. The entire class is designed to call Christian leaders to a place of humility and prayer in which they come together to see God for personal renewal and corporate revival."
The training events also provide foundational training in Bible and ministry skills, resources for churches to equip their members, and networking opportunities for local pastors.
After a recent two-day training, in Lima, Peru, the 11-member team spoke Sunday on evangelism in seven different churches and distributed 500 books on discipleship that had been donated by a Peruvian pastor.
The results of the training have taken many forms, Larry shared. Based on his involvement in the training, one Lima minister became instrumental in starting 18 churches throughout the Amazon region in northwest Peru.
Our two GO partners there, pastors Wilkinson Grandez and Desiderio Escalante, share the same vision of helping to mobilize and empower local leaders. On August 7-12, 2014, they will direct a major evangelism and training campaign among the Machiguengas Indians. Church leaders and laity will conference together and reach out to their neighbors with the Gospel.
"It is rewarding to see our national leaders go forth to some of the hardest-to-reach regions of Peru and share the Gospel message and encourage other leaders to seek God for revival," Larry added. "This is the heart of what GO InterNational wants to accomplish as its mission."
