Urgent Medical team need in Nepal!
GO InterNational will be taking a medical team to Hetauda, Nepal Sept 20-Oct 4, 2014. We will be partnering with GO partner Babu Varghese and Nepal Evangelical Mission to deliver medical care to needy villages. We will work in areas that the mission has targeted for church planting efforts. Nepal is less than 2% Christian, so the need for the gospel is great. GO has taken two prior teams to Hetauda and met great needs and great fruit as a result. We are looking for physicians, nurses, PAs, NPs, dentists and non-medical helpers for this team. If you would be interested in this fantastic opportunity, click here for more information or contact me, Larry Frick, Director of Medical Missions for GO InterNational.
GO Medical missions: beyond treatment
The medical missions team at GO InterNational feels treatment alone of disease and illness isn't enough. So,it has adopted the Community Health Evangelism (CHE) strategy to develop ownership and significant change.
This philosophy focuses on empowering people in impoverished communities around the world to do things for themselves. This holistic ministry reaches the whole person - spiritually and physically -and teaches people how to identify their own problems and ways to solve them using locally resources.
"It's exciting to experience God's power as people go through training and to see how they can be part of major changes that will tremendously impact their communities," said Dr. Larry Frick, "Director of Medical Missions for GO. "Such transformation becomes important as individuals develop a new life in Christ that leads to stronger families, healthier communities, and newly planted churches."
Wonderful opportunities have developed in Mexico. Larry Frick and Jorge Ramirez have been conducting training in Ciudad Juarez and San Juanito in the last few months. As a result, doctors, nurses, pastors and church leaders in San Juanito are actively engaged in this prevention-based approach. They are integrating spiritual and physical ministry. One nurse, Luz, began sharing spiritual lessons together with her health lessons. The response was amazing and people are asking for more. She says, "My heart is full of joy!" In another location, volunteer health workers and a community health committee are operating in a village where they run a clinic. In Owerri, Nigeria, 40 workers were trained, and, as a result, a new church was planted in the village of Umagwo.
Efforts that transform people from being fed or cared for to people who learn to feed and provide for themselves can positively impact regions - village by village. But, it requires individuals like you, willing to make a difference.
If you wish to go on a team, or support this effort financially, please let me know. You'll discover you'll be changed - forever - as you help others change themselves..
Looking forward to talking to you soon!
