We have our plans, but God has His Agenda!

"We have been praying for ten years for a GO team to come and visit our village."

Teodoro is a Peruvian who is persistent.  I remember five years ago on a trail hike to Mt. Olivos, Peru he walked seven miles to bring our team water and soft drinks, and then walked back with us!  How many friends do you have who will walk fourteen miles to give you a drink??  On other occasions he took the time to come and visit our GO teams and repeatedly requested we come and visit his village.

Teodoro was from Susheru, Peru.  He had taken a bus to Chachapoyas where our GO team was conducting a medical clinic this past week. Even though his village was a three hour drive away, our team willingly changed the schedule and loaded up our supplies and took off for this rural Peruvian hamlet.  As we so often say on missions teams there are times you have to go with the flow, and as Grant Parker advised me later, "we have our plans but God has His agenda."

Make no mistake, this was an adventure that was not in our plans.  God rewarded us all by our experiences the next day.  Several hundred people came for medical and dental attention and reading glasses.  Our guys on the work crew took up volleyball and soccer and discovered real quick who was the superior team.  That night after supper the church was packed to hear testimonies and preaching.  We gave hundreds of tracts and left Bibles for new believers.  We had the joy

of praying for many people who wanted to have Jesus in their hearts.

Our stay then shifted to Maceda, Peru where the team was asked to build a home for a ninety year old widow who was basically barely surviving.  The medical team also assisted many people with their physical and spiritual needs.  We were blessed beyond measure again as God demonstrated His Grace to His people.

The GO team of eighteen volunteers from the US and nine Peruvians was constantly moving, and traveled many hours in crowded vans over treacherous roads.  We were so blessed with a spirit of unity and grace as God's Holy Spirit ministered to hungry hearts.  Our two pastors' conferences were blessed with teaching from Dr. Curtis Sellers of Science Hill, Kentucky, Rev. Grant Parker of Phenix City, Alabama and Rev. Richard Sochacki of Anderson, Indiana.

Thanks be to God for answered prayers and for the loving support from so many people who had a part in our adventure to Peru.

Consider joining us on a similar adventure in 2014!

Thank you and God bless!
