Larry Cochran recently returned from Peru where he and his wife Jenny and a team of Peruvian doctors and evangelists ministered to the Aguarunas Indians. 

The main purpose of this trip was to show the Jesus film and distribute Bibles to the Aguarunas tribe that lives deep in the Amazon. There was no source of electricity so a generator was shipped ahead along with cases of Bibles and tracts. 

The trek to the Amazon was long and taxing.  The mission team provided a day of medical care, and finally the time came to show the Aguarunas Indians the movie.  Many were  in attendance and the movie was ready to begin, however no picture would appear on the projector. 

"My mind raced back to the times I've found myself wondering if this would be the first time I would return home and say, "we failed to show the Jesus film."  Doubts were creeping in when I prayed that most famous prayer of Peter when he found himself sinking on the sea, "Lord save me!"  And He did," Larry said.

After further inspection, Larry found that the DVD was not fully inserted and therefore wasn't working.  Once the DVD was properly inserted, the people were mesmerized with the message of salvation that the movie showed.  "You could have heard a pin drop!  Their eyes were fixated on the screen, a sheet hung up on the back wall of the church.  

Miracles, words from Jesus teaching the multitudes, scripture just flowed over and over.  Then the crucifixion, you could literally hear the crowd gasp when the nails were pounded into His hands and feet!  And then the resurrection, the glorious appearing of Jesus to His disciples," Larry said.

After the movie ended, an invitation was given and many people came prayed and received Jesus that day.  "I looked at my wife and said, "This was worth the whole trip."  And it was. The long and difficult travel, the strange food, the uncomfortable living conditions all pale in comparison to the incredible love God has to make His name "well known," Larry said. 

Please be praying for the Aguarunas Indians and the people who go to minister to these people in the Amazon.
