When you think of the Trinidad what comes to mind? Palm trees and steel drums? Well you would be right but did you know that God was moving powerfully there? Even among the many Hindus that inhabit the island!

 

Recently GO team leader, Mike Mason and his wife Christie made their way to Trinidad to carry out a Christmas ministry to the poor in the neighborhood around the Temple Street House of Prayer on the south end of the island. This local church is located in an area that is predominately Hindu, so it is strategic in reaching those nearby. "We really feel that the Lord has opened a door for ministry here. Two of our new locations for ministry to neighborhood children are at homes owned by Hindus. This is huge because it gives us credibility in the village. One of our ministry partners a neat Christian couple whose father is a strong Hindu and although he works in the local Hindu temple, he has welcomed us into his home asked us to use it for outreach. We feel these opportunities are nothing short of miraculous!" Mike said.

 

            But the miracles don't stop there. On one of the days when Mike and Pastor Seebalack were setting up to have a "Christmas treat day" for the kids, nothing was going according to their plan, but apparently God had a plan. A woman drove up and asked them what they were doing. "She introduced herself as the Counselor (government representative) for this village. She told us if she had known about this outreach, she could have supplied us with toys and treats to hand out at no cost! She gave us her name and number, and said to keep her updated on what we were doing. And she is a Hindu!" Mike said.

 

These experiences are confirming to Mike and Christie that God has a plan for Trinidad and is actively looking for those who will help share His love and His story.
