Greetings!

Greetings!

Around 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 28th, the first of 21 GO InterNational team leaders began to file into the large meeting room at the Kinlaw Library, on the campus of Asbury University in Wilmore, Kentucky. They were gathering to take part in the GO InterNational Team Leader Training (GITLT) program. Many were seasoned team leaders; some were new.

Training was led by CEO & President Bert Jones, Director of Medical Missions Larry Frick, Past President Larry Cochran and VP of Administration Bob Stanko. The format involved instruction with discussion, and input from all the attendees. Everyone came away with a better understanding of team leader responsibilities and expectations.

GO InterNational has successfully led teams into areas around the globe for over 40 years. With all this experience, what does this training and the revised and new policies mean for team participants?

This may best be answered by looking at our mission: The mission of GO InterNational is to help people develop and pursue their passion for fulfilling the Great Commission. You are much more apt to develop and pursue your passion if your experience is positive, well planned, challenging and rewarding, and your expectations are met.

Bert Jones, stated that "one of the keys to a successful short-term mission is training and preparation of the team." He also added, "We want every mission trip to be consistent with the values of GO."

In addition to our faith, mission, vision, and the core values for our ministry, GO InterNational has established a number of international mission team values. A few of these that will make your experience the best:

  1. Our teams are Biblically based, evangelistic in nature, guided by the Holy Spirit, and are designed to challenge you spiritually.
  2. Our history in missions has prepared us to do ministry in a correct and Christ honoring way in another context and cultures.
  3. We desire that you minister and be ministered to during your mission trip. You will take part in devotions, personal quiet time, discipleship, and preaching....developing a deeper relationship with Christ from the trip experience.
  4. We believe that the time and effort to develop leadership can make the difference between a good trip and a great trip.

There are a number of mission trips still open for participants.
