GMHC

Dr. Larry Frick, Director of Medical Missions, recently represented GO InterNational at the Global Missions Health Conference at Southeast Christian Church in Louisville, KY. It is the largest conference for those working in or interested in medical missions in the world. It includes people working in missions from all continents and medical fields including nursing, medicine, pharmacy, dentistry and community health.

A large number of those attending are students considering or preparing for a career in medical missions. "GO had a display at the conference and made many helpful connections with those interested in our ministry. Over fifteen students from the University of Kentucky Colleges of Medicine and Dentistry's CMDA chapter, which I work with attended, as well as several pre-health professions students from Asbury University," Dr. Frick said. Another exciting aspect of the GMHC is their development of the Medical Missions website. On this site you can find all kinds of information about medical missions. There are stories and resources such as talks from recent conferences, including workshops given by Dr. Frick in previous years.

Prior to the GMHC, Dr. Frick attended the North America CHE network meeting, interacting with other missionaries who utilize Community Health Evangelism in their ministries around the world. "This network has been an invaluable resource to GO as we build our Community Health Evangelism ministry. They have provided resources and also networking which has helped us connect our partners to others doing CHE work in their country," Dr. Frick said. The Global CHE Network recently featured GO as their member of the month. You can see their story on GO work in Nepal at the CHE Network website.

A new initiative of the Global CHE Network is the International Holistic Missions Conference which will be held January 9-11 in Peoria, AZ. Dr. Frick will be among the many workshop presenters. This conference is for anyone interested in a holistic approach to missions, a key value in all of GO missions' projects. Please consider joining Dr. Frick at this conference.
