Fall is in the air, and more than just the cooler temperatures are changing at your Camden Chamber of Commerce. As I write this, we are preparing for Tuesday morning's 2nd part of the quarterly meeting series focused on informing the local business community of

Camden County's economic climate and opportunities.  Again, you all have sold out the breakfast event and there will be standing room only. This makes is very evident that Camden County is "All Hands On Deck" when it comes to improving our community wealth.  Camden County is on the brink of change... We are at a pivotal point and, through an effective strategy, proper communication and quantifiable performance measurements, together we will achieve greatness!

In addition to the leaves and the wardrobe changes that the cooler weather brings (I personally cannot wait to break out the scarves & boots!), I would like for you to consider shifting the way that you think about promoting your business. Make a deliberate effort to include communication with the Chamber in all that you do:  all events, specials, promotions, announcements, etc.  We have the ability to help you expand and promote your business brand, but we can't do that if we aren't aware of your efforts.  There are many opportunities available to you, most of the programs are included with your membership investment and no additional cost to you... yet, very few members take advantage of this opportunities.  I am hoping to create additional awareness and communicate those opportunities to you over the next few months.

Let's first start with the Chamber website, www.camdenchamber.com.  We are working to expand the business directory listing capabilities.  In the meantime, when is the last time that you verified your information or confirmed that we had the proper contact info for your business? Please take a few minutes and log in to your member account & verify your information. Are you posting all of your events, promotions and announcements on our calendar? Our online calendar is where we pull information for all Chamber social media promotions, the Chamber page in the Tribune & Georgian, and the Chamber eNewsletters content.

How about social media? Have you "liked" the Camden County Chamber of Commerce facebook page? Our social media promotions are going to soon be greatly expanding and we want you to be a part of that advertising. All member submitted events, promotions, and announcements will be shared through our social media platforms several times a week... there is no cost for this publicity, it is what we at the Chamber do:  Promoting Business, Building Community.  There may even be a give-away or two going to happen soon, so make sure that you like the facebook page and check back often for updates!

In closing, I would like to take a minute and let you know how touched that I have been by your support and confidence that you have shown since I came onboard.  Over the past 60 days, many of you have taken the time to reach out to welcome me.  I have learned a lot, including what the Chamber is doing correct, whats needs to be improved upon and several suggestions on making your membership more relevant.  I love hearing from you all - good, bad or ugly - and I am listening.... doing my best to incorporate as many new programs and ideas that I can. Please feel to reach out to me if you have any ideas.  I appreciate all of you that have taken the time to help steer the Chamber towards success.  This clearly demonstrates that you are invested & committed to improving Camden County's community wealth!  Only by working together can we promote change, and I am truly excited about the direction that YOUR Camden Chamber is moving!
