MVLA Scholars Establishes a Scholarship  
in Honor of Dr. Barry Groves


MVLA Scholars is establishing a scholarship in honor of
Dr. Barry Groves who will retire this summer after serving 9 years as superintendent of Mountain View Los Altos High School District. Dr. Groves has been a strong supporter of the Scholars program, guiding the expansion of the program into high school classrooms. The $16,000 four-year Barry Groves scholarship will be awarded annually to an exceptional district graduate who also is a first-generation college student. The MVLA Scholars board plans to raise $250,000 as the initial goal.

Donors will be recognized at a reception hosted by the MVLA Scholars board for Dr. Groves on June 19. Pharmaca Grand Opening May 2 & 3

Celebrate the Grand Opening of Pharmaca's 30th store location in Los Altos, California! This exciting event for local residents will feature complimentary spa services at the store's Natural Beauty Bar, special offers and individualized health consultations with the expert staff. In addition, the first 100 attendees, beginning Saturday at 8 a.m., will also receive a Wellness Gift Bag filled with a variety of top-of-the-line natural health and skin care products! On Saturday, 5 percent of total retail sales will be donated to Hidden Villa, a Los Altos non-profit educational organization that uses its organic farm, wilderness, and community to teach and provide opportunities to learn about the environment and social justice.
