Watch for additional DV Awareness Month activities:
Cycle of Violence:
Operation Care will present the 3D Exhibit of The Cycle of Violence, open to the public from October 14th-October 25th. The exhibit is a multi-sensory experience, giving the public an opportunity to see, hear, and experience domestic violence from the child's perspective. This is intended to increase awareness about the effects of domestic violence on the victim, family members, friends, and the community. The exhibit is located at 619 New York Ranch Rd, Jackson CA 95642 and will be available to Monday thru Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Any question please call 209.223.2897.
Purple Ribbon Baskets:
Be on the lookout for Purple Ribbon Baskets! Baskets will be located at various locations around Amador County. Each basket is filled with free purple bracelets, ribbons, and stickers. We encourage you to wear these items in support of Domestic Violence Awareness Month and increasing awareness of domestic violence in our community. If you are interested in having a basket at your local business, please call (209) 223-2897.
Purple People:
L ook for the purple people around Amador County during the month of October. These life-sized silhouettes are a visual representation of the domestic violence victims we serve. We hope that by placing the silhouettes throughout the county, we will increase awareness to our community and help victims to know they are not alone.
