It's Been a SPOOKtacular October of Service

Happy Halloween! We wish you a safe and fantastic evening of trick-or-treating!

Our Girl Scouts have been busy trick-or-treating with purpose. From teen-led hayrides to trunk or treat events collecting canned goods, socks and items for our furry friends, girls have been inspired to make a difference. We been sharing all these awesome stories throughout the day on our Facebook page. Check it out, and you might see a familiar face or two.

And if we missed a great story or your girl chose a Girl Scout-inspired costume, share your story and photos with us via our FacebookInstagram and Twitter pages or email prdept@gsksmo.org

Thanks for all you do to support your Girl Scout's experience! We hope you will take an opportunity to enjoy one of our upcoming community program activities. It's a great way to bond with your girl and have some fun too! Please let us know if have a question or need support.

Have a wonderful start to your November!
Happy Birthday, Juliette!

Did you know that Juliette Gordon Low's 156th birthday is today? That's right, October 31 is the birthday of our trailblazing Founder, Juliette Gordon Low.

When Juliette (or "Daisy" as her family called her) was growing up, girls didn't have the opportunities they have today. Thanks to her hard work, dedication and vision of a world of gender equality, millions of girls have been impacted by being Girl Scouts. Read "to Things You Didn't Know About Juliette Gordon Low" on our blog!

Brownies & Daisies Are AWESOME
Connect and learn about troops in our council!

Our youngest Girl Scouts are showing the world that just because you're little doesn't mean you can't make a BIG impact! Meet Girl Scout Brownie Troop 2231 from Chillicothe, MO who had local law enforcement come talk to them about Halloween safety tips AND surprised the officers with gift baskets from local businesses. Of course, our Daisies are on fire too! Daisies from SU 625 in Kansas City, KS enjoyed a day at Deanna Rose Farmstead getting to learn about animals! What a great way to show how awesome Girl Scouts are. Keep up with Girl Scouts by following us on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter , Blog & Snapchat!
Oh, the Places Girl Scouts Go!

Girl Scouts get to do some pretty amazing things and this fall has been no exception. We held the first Girl Scout Arrowhead TAKEOVER! Girls got to talk to female football players, tour the locker room and learn about the Chiefs. Then we had the first Girl Scouts Day at the Kansas Speedway for some time at the racetrack - complete with Fan Visions! At the Speedway they got a VERY SPECIAL Q&A with Danica Patrick. What amazing things Girl Scouts get to do! Read more about the events on our blog!

Did You Know?

STEM skills are important for girls in today's world, but if they're not inspired by 5th grade, they lose interest. In Girl Scouts, girls learn more than just Science, Technology, Engineering and Math skills, they learn to work together. 70% of Girl Scouts doing the STEM through Girl Scouts said one of the most important things they did was learn by working with other girls.
