It's officially FALL! The weather is just starting to feel brisk and the season of giving is just around the corner. As generous donors to Girl Scouts, you support programs that enrich the lives of girls ALL YEAR LONG and we couldn't do it without you. In the spirit of giving and the upcoming time of year that really focuses on doing good in the world, we are celebrating the United Way and CFC (Combined Federal Campaign)! We are also so excited that the natural playground project is underway out at Camp Daisy, thanks to the generosity of Capitol Federal. Capitol Federal was this year's recipient of the Corporate Philanthropist Award at the West Region's Volunteer Appreciation event. We're so thankful for all the volunteers, donors, families and alumnae we have in our Council. Thanks to everyone in the West for putting on your cowgirl boots and celebrating service with us in September! Don't miss our last two Volunteer Appreciation events - the North Region event on Oct 1 in Chillicothe, MO and the East Region event on Oct 6 in Independence, MO. THANK YOU!
So Much Fun - Naturally!
Camp Daisy is Getting a New Playground

Camp Daisy is about to get a lot more fun thanks to a generous gift from the Capitol Federal Foundation! This amazing donor pledged $25K to build a natural playground at Camp Daisy. These unique playgrounds incorporate surrounding landscape into the design, encouraging girls to interact with nature. Thank you so much for making this possible! Because of donors like you, girls are getting incredible opportunities to grow.

United Way of Atchison's Terry Knopke

Every year Girl Scouts receives generous funding from various United Ways around our Council region. One of these United Ways is the Atchison Area United Way, that supports Girl Scouting in Service Unit 801! Leading the way for this organization is Terry Knopke and her dedicated Board of Directors. Check out this awesome story about service as a way of life in Atchison and how they're dedicated to providing equal funding for boys and girls.
Celebrating Volunteers
The West Region Volunteer Celebration Event

It was time to grab cowgirl boots and head west - to the West Region Volunteer Appreciation Event that is! On Sept 10, Girl Scouts, volunteers, alumna and staff gathered in Topeka for a small Expo and celebration event focused on our volunteers. Every day thousands of Girl Scout volunteers change the lives of girls right here in our Council - and we want to say THANK YOU! Check out the program and photos from the event! Thank you to everyone who came out in their western best and celebrated with us.

Congrats to our philanthropic honorees:
