Generation Nano
The National Science Foundation and the National Nanotechnology Initiative have launched a competition called "Generation Nano: Small Science, Superheroes." The contest asks high school students to design nanotechnology-enabled gear for an original superhero. Submissions are due by Feb. 2, 2016 and will include a brief technical description of their gear and either a video or comic showing their superhero using that gear. Stan Lee, the co-creator of Marvel comic book characters including Spider-Man and the X-Men, recently championed Generation Nano on his blog.
