National Young Woman of Distinction

We're throwing a party! Every year, ten exceptionally inspiring Girl Scout Gold Award recipients are chosen as National Young Women of Distinction. Join us for a dinner and a viewing party at Headquarters (8383 Blue Parkway Drive, Kansas City, MO 64133) on October 7 from 5:30 - 7 p.m to hear from the ten young women are taking matters into their own hands and being the change the world needs! Prior to the live stream, staff and Gold Award committee members will be on hand to answer all your questions about earning the three highest awards! Please RSVP by October 5 to [email protected]

2016 Cookie Program:
Troop Cookie Manager Training

Our annual Troop Cookie Training is the best way for troops to learn how to manage the 2016 Cookie Program. New Troop Cookie Managers and Troop Leaders will learn the tricks for a successful program, veteran volunteers will see enhancements to SNAP. Everyone attending will be eligible for door prizes!

First and second year TCMs and Leaders are asked to attend. TCMs and leaders with three or more years of experience are welcome but attendance is not required. Each adult must register for training and be a registered Girl Scout for the 2015-16 membership year.

Additional Cookie Program marketing materials (car magnets, yard signs and more) will be available at training (cash, check or charge)!

KU Football 

Girl Scouts, friends and family are invited to Girl Scout Day at KU Football on October 17 as the Jayhawks take on Texas Tech University. Join troops from all over the region to participate in pregame activities hosted by Kappa Delta Sorority. Based on Girl Scout ticket sales, girls will be selected at random to welcome the players onto the field and participate in on-field activities. 
KC Healthy Kids

On October 10KC Healthy Kids is offering unique programming for Brownies working on Brownie Quest and Juniors working on Agent of Change journeys. Girl Scouts will learn how to practice healthy habits in their own life and how to create a healthy community.  
St. Joseph Library

Calling all Brownies! The St. Joseph Library has a unique workshop for you all about Little Riding Hood. Did you know that there are multiple versions of this story that are told all over the world?! Learn more about the history on October 17! 
Cookie Booth Committee

We are seeking motivated volunteers for the Cookie Booth Sale Committee! This 4 month appointment helps find, and retain retail locations in the six-county metro Kansas City area (Johnson and Wyandotte in Kansas, Cass, Clay, Jackson and Platte in Missouri) for the 2016 Cookie Program

There's still time for girls to use their Cookie Dough earned from the 2015 Cookie Program. If your Girl Scout hasn't used her "Dough" yet, see how she can use her Dough before it expires on October 31, 2015!

United Way & CFC Campaign

Did you know that Girl Scouts of NE Kansas & NW Missouri benefits from financial support and increased public awareness of United Way and CFC donors?
Local United Ways throughout our Council have already kicked off their campaigns. Please support the United Way campaign by a making a gift to your local United Way community fund which benefits Girl Scouts and other community organizations.

Additionally, the annual fundraising drive of the Combined Federal Campaign is also now underway. Federal civilian, postal, and military employees have an opportunity to participate in the CFC - the world's largest and most successful annual workplace charity campaign! If you are a federal employee, please consider directing your CFC contribution to the Girl Scouts of NE Kansas & NW Missouri.
