Senator Claire McCaskill Presentation

We have received a few tickets from our friends at Rainy Day Books for a special presentation by GS alumna Sen. Claire McCaskill. She will take guests through her new memoir, which tells the story of her leadership journey. This is a great opportunity for Cadette - Ambassador Girl Scouts and their parent / caregiver. An Evening with a Naval Rear Admiral
Wednesday, August 19 - 6:00 pm at the Kauffman Foundation 

Calling all Junior - Ambassador Girl Scouts, troop leaders and parents / caregivers. We are so honored to have Rear Admiral Rebecca McCormick-Boyle join us for a fantastic evening of showcasing her career in STEM with the Navy's medical division. Guests will have an opportunity to hear and meet with this inspiring role model and then girls will go hands-on with interactive demonstrations. Space is limited, so reserve your spot(s) today by emailing [email protected]. This event will be held at the Kauffman Foundation Conference Center at 4801 Rockhill Road in KCMO.
 

Kickoff - September 19; Build Day - March 5

What can a team of creative and innovative Girl Scouts build with a team of female design professionals using 600 Girl Scout Cookie boxes?! Registration is open to Cadette, Senior and Ambassador Girl Scouts and closes on September for the second annual Cookie Construction program!
 

September 19, 2015; 9 a.m.- 12 p.m. 

This interactive and educational experience at Benedictine College is for Girl Scouts in the 6th grade. The event is limited to 30 girls and will familiarize them with regional plants and animals!

Benedictine College also has a workshop for Cadettes and Seniors of the "Who Dun It" type. Girls will practice their forensic scientist skills and explore the biology behind different blood types! You can schedule this a a time that works for your troop for only $3 a girl! 


September 26, 2015; 2 p.m.

The UMKC Women's Volleyball team will take on Utah Valley for the first of three Girl Scout Days with the UMKC Women's athletic department! All Girl Scouts will receive a special UMKC Athletics patch and girls will be randomly selected to be honorary ball kids during the game. A post-match autograph session and meet and greet with players and coaches will take place following the game! If you purchase tickets for the Volleyball game AND the Basketball game, you will earn a FREE pizza party at the Softball game in the Spring. Let's go Roos!
 

October 3, 2015; 1-4 p.m.
 
Cadette, Senior and Ambassador Girl Scouts are invited to the Downtown Airport for a hands-on experience with various air crafts with TriStar! Girl Scouts will learn about the history of aviation, fundamentals of flight science, airport operations, pilot careers, and participate in a glider competition! 


October 3, 2015; 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.

 

The partnership with Kansas STARBASE & Museum of the Kansas National Guard will combine a robotics class with a fun Kansas history lesson about the Kansas Militia and National Guard! There will be airplanes and helicopters on site and Girl Scouts will learn more about the science behind flight and participate in a robotics class and challenge! At the end of the day, girls will know now the military uses robots in the work they do for our country. 

 


November 14, 2015; 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.

The theme of Girl Scout Day with the K-State Society of Women Engineers is "Green Design." Cadette, Senior and Ambassador Girl Scouts will learn what the field of engineering is like from K-State students and professors in various engineering programs and create their own green designs. Space is limited to 60 Girl Scouts.  

Multiple Dates

There are four Kansas City Zoo STEM Days scheduled for September and October! Each day has it's own curriculum such as animal behavior and health, animal husbandry and training, horticulture and exhibit design! Juniors and Cadettes don't want to miss these unique experiences at the Kansas City Zoo!


You Schedule It!

Great for Girl Scouts of all ages, the  Mattie Rhodes Art Center located in Kansas City's Westside neighborhood offers unique arts programming for girls who are needing to embrace their creativity! At Mattie Rhodes workshops, girls will gain a cross-cultural understanding and appreciation for art. These workshops are available on a "You Schedule It!" basis and range from $5-$15 per participant. 

 
 
Multiple Dates

Robidoux Resident Theatre in St. Joseph offeres various workshops for Brownie, Junior and Cadette Girl Scouts all about the magical world of theatre. Some workshops fulfill badge and journey requirements and are only $15 per girl!
