| It's Time to Bridge! | |
As we celebrate the end of the school year, many troops also celebrate their move to the next grade level with a Bridging Ceremony. Thanks to all of the troops who submitted their Bridging stories - we celebrate you all and look forward to seeing you at the next Girl Scout level! We would love to share your story and photos on Facebook, just send to prdept@gsksmo.org.
For our last S'MORE of the school year, we are proud to feature Troop 1076 from Blue River Elementary in Overland Park, Kansas who bridged to Brownie Girl Scouts. What a great celebration they had with more than 40 in attendance. The girls recited the Promise & Law and then told part of the well-known Brownie story. Right before the story ended, the girls were taken across the bridge and then were told the following:
"Twist me and turn me and show me the elf, I looked in the water and saw (insert girl's name). "For years and years, this rhyme has been special to Brownies. It means that you don't have to wait for someone else to make things better. You are a Brownie-that means you're a leader in your daily life and a leader in the world. You can do extraordinary things!"
The girls then received a special photo album full of photos of all their Daisy activities and of course enjoyed cupcakes! Congratulations to Troop 1076, their Troop Leader Sheri James, assistant leaders and families!
Don't forget your Bridging or Court of Awards - get all your needs by visiting us at the GSKSMO Shop or through our online store.

| Name an Exciting New Initiative Coming Next Year | |
We need your help and great creative thinking! We are so excited to be planning for some new things coming in the 2014-15 membership year including a special troop recognition.
We want to spotlight troops who are exemplary in using the Girl Scout Leadership Program portfolio, follow the 10 essential elements and more. This recognition will include a patch or other uniform recognition to show the honor achieved, but we need a creative name for this recognition. We have a few ideas like STAR Troop, Mighty Troop, Top-Notch Troop or Trefoil Troop - but maybe we haven't thought of the most creative idea yet. What do you think?
Share your idea for a great name for this recognition! If your idea is chosen, you will receive a little recognition of your own. Let us know by emailing prdept@gsksmo.org. Thanks!
