I'm excited to announce that we now have over 100 Founding Members of Daisy's Circle! I want to thank everyone who has joined in the past two months. You are leaders and role models.
You are helping us grow strong and courageous leaders like Girl Scout alumna Mackenzie Evan Smith. Mackenzie spoke at the Adult
Recognition Luncheon and shared an amazing story of how the courage, confidence, and character she gained through Girl Scouts helped her complete the 2,650 mile hike of the Pacific Crest Trail last year.
GS alumna Mackenzie Evan Smith with her father, Ed Smith. Mackenzie shared her story at the Adult Recognition Luncheon on April 12.
I was so impressed and inspired by her story! And what's more- Mackenzie is a member of Daisy's Circle. I hope she inspires you to join Daisy's Circle and build more Girl Scouts like her.
Donors like you and Mackenzie are helping girls hike their own trail, whatever it may be.
You are building confidence at camp
Campers including Troop Leader Tiffany Bush (center) enjoyed s'mores, which were invented by Girl Scouts.
It was such a treat to visit Brownie and Junior troops from the GS Outreach Program at Camp Prairie Schooner over the past two weeks!
This was the first camp experience for nearly all the girls attending the Outreach Program spring camp-out. They were so excited when they told me they got to do "everything" at camp-from cooking over a fire to geocaching. And I was excited to try my first "taco in a bag" with them!
At camp, girls build skills, overcome fears, and make memories that last a lifetime. Donors like you make it possible for 25,000 girls to participate in day camp, resident camp and troop camping events each year.
Your 2013 Annual Report is now available
I hope you will take a moment to read the 2013 Annual Report and learn about the impact you made in 2013. Thank you for all you do to support Girl Scouts!
