An Update on eBiz, the GS Registration Site

With any registration system, there can sometimes be a few glitches along the way. eBiz, our national registration system is certainly experiencing its fair share. We want to first say thank you for your continued patience and feedback as we work with GSUSA on solutions and information to communicate back to you.

Here are a few notes to make you aware of:

A new button has been added underneath the scrolling ads on our home page to make accessing the registration site much easier  - now it is just one click!

Log-in for Registration Site and Troop Management

Just a reminder - to register for council programs and trainings or to use troop management, you will need to establish a log-in for the Registration Site. This is also the case if you registered using a paper form or are a life-time member. Visit the Registration Site  to start this process.

Check your Troop Listing

Leaders: we hope you will take a few moments to log-in and makes sure your girls are showing up in the troop listing. If you registered by paper, there may be a slight delay in entry. If you know a girl was signed up using the registration system, please contact the registration help desk so we might help you find her and get her connected to your troop.

Position Codes

After September 30 and in order to make sure there is accuracy in positions, position codes were deleted. If after looking at your profile and not seeing an 01 (Troop Leader) or 02 (Assistant Leader) or other code, please email registrationhelpdesk@gsksmo.org to get reinstated. Click here for a full list of position codes and more information about why we have the codes.

Paper Registrations

We encourage using the online registration system, but we understand there are times when paper is the only option. The quicker you can get those forms to your Service Unit Registrar and then onto us - we can get the girl or other volunteer entered and showing up in your troop listing.

We are here to support you! Please let us know how we can help by calling   (816) 358-8750 or emailing registrationhelpdesk@gsksmo.org.

 How are you Celebrating?

Girl Scouts' Founder, Juliette Gordon Low's birthday is October 31. We posed a question last month how your troop might be celebrating this special day. We received many excellent responses but were really impressed with Cadette Troop #13's plans. Troop #13 is from Raymore, Missouri led by awesome volunteers; Lori Moss (Troop Leader) and Krina Snider and Cindy Winton (Assistant Leaders).

The girls will put their leadership skills into action as they facilitate activities for their younger GS sisters. First, they will create houses out of cardboard boxes, then they have asked the Daisy troop to come and trick-or-treat. At the end of the trick-or-treating, they will share the meaning of this day for all Girl Scouts by hosting a B-Day party. The Cadette Girl Scouts will present the Daisy Girl Scouts with gifts that will help their troop get started like first aid supplies, camping items and arts and crafts supplies. Way to go girls!

Join Troop #13 in the spotlight by sharing your creative ideas to the following question: What is a great example of a take action project your troop has completed or working on? Send us your ideas to prdept@gsksmo.org.

Here are a few of the great STEM opportunities coming up for teen Girl Scouts:

  • Teen Astronomy at Camp Tongawood on November 9 - Girls in grades 6-12 will learn about how the seasons determine the stars and planets you can see in the sky.  Using tools, such as telescopes, as well as a little math to do some calculations, girls will get a great introduction in astronomy.  The volunteers have been trained by NASA educators, and understand how to take very big ideas, and make them easy to understand.
  • Spark Event at Google Fiber Space on November 14 - Troops are invited to participate in Fiber Space tours and a live Google Hangout with women who make Google Fiber happen. Learn what made them pursue this career path, what they do for Google Fiber and what makes their work so rewarding.
