| Girl Scout Registration News & Notes | |
Our on-time registration promotion ended on September 20, but there is no deadline for joining Girl Scouts! Just a couple notes to keep in mind as we end September and officially launch into the new GS Year on October 1:
-All girls and adults registered by September 20 will receive a special link to purchase the t-shirts for $12 (this price is the same for adult and girl shirts)! An email with all the purchase instructions will be sent on Friday, September 27.
-Please note that troop leaders will have until 10:59 pm, September 30 to renew members. After this time, the family manager will have to renew the individual(s).
-Girls who are newly registered members of your troop will not show on your troop roster until October 1.
-Girl Scout National Recruitment Week is September 30- October 6. We are just getting details from GSUSA and know this campaign is going to be heavily social media- driven. Make sure you have liked us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter to take part in the fun. First Lady Obama has filmed an adult volunteer video that we expect to be live around September 30 and will definitely share. Now that our on-time registration has ended, you will be able to see how we are using the national I Can't Wait to... Campaign. Download and use some of these great graphics in your recruitment efforts.

Girl Scouts Love to Troop Camp!
| |
Troop 8184 from Atchison, Kansas adds a scavenger hunt to their troop camping experience! It's a tradition at their fall camp-out to add this fun and team-building opportunity.
Here's what they do: the adults will hide glow in the dark items throughout camp, they will break the girls into teams of 2-3 and then when it is dark the girls will have 15 minutes to write down what the items are and where they found them. The other scavenger hunt includes hiding pieces of clothing throughout camp, the girls will solve riddles to find and then one person from the team will come back dressed in the outfit. Sounds like a great addition to any troop camp-out!
Great job to Troop Leader Kelly Franklin and Assistant Leaders Monica Franklin and Denita Jordan! Want to receive a $20 GS Shop Gift Certificate just like Kelly? Send us your ideas for the following question:
GS Founder Juliette Gordon Low's Birthday is October 31, how does your troop plan to celebrate this amazing woman's birthday?
Send your ideas to prdept@gsksmo.org.
