A Spotlight on Brownie Troop 3044
Thanks to everyone who submitted their great ideas for troop kick-off events and investitures!  We want to highlight Troop 3044 from John Nowlin Elementary in Blue Springs, Missouri for their creative luau themed kick-off!

By making this welcome back a FUN and GIRL-LED activity, 12 girls returned to the troop and a new Girl Scout sister joined them. The girls enjoyed colorful Hawaiian attire, great food and friendship. What a fantastic way to kick off the new GS Year! Congrats to Troop Leader Gretchen Deaton, Assistant Troop Leader and nominator Le Ann White and all the adult volunteers who support Troop 3044!

Be the next troop highlighted and receive a $20 GS Shop Gift Certificate!

Fall Dates for Zipline, Rappel and Archery

Jump start your scouting year with some high adventure or be "right on target" with a visit to our archery ranges!  Programs are scheduled at our various camps during September, October and November.  Visit the interactive calendar for available dates.

 Call for Outdoor Volunteers

Did you know that our outdoor programs like archery, rappel, zipline and camping 102 are offered by volunteers, just like you?  What does it take to be an instructor?  Just a willingness to stretch out of your comfort zone to learn some new skills and join a group of fellow volunteers who wish to be a part of helping girls grow confident and courageous. Learn more by contacting Stefanie Lawhorn at (816) 358-8750 or stefanielawhorn@gsksmo.org.

 Camping 101 and 102

Troop camping is a great fall activity. Our properties have many options available for your troop. Training is required for troop camping on or off our property. If your troop is staying in building like cabins or a lodge, Camping 101 is required and is completed online.

If you are planning to stay in the permatents or pitching a tent, at least one adult must complete Camping 102. Camping 102 is a face to face training. You can choose a day or overnight option.
