 Program Aide
When girls guide or teach others, they act as mentors. An exciting part of a Girl Scout's development, teen mentoring is a win-win proposition! As teen mentors, Girl Scout Cadettes gain experience by sharing skills, testing knowledge and trying out new leadership roles. For girls being mentored, it means a chance to be with and learn from teens - some of their favorite people!

By earning the Program Aide award, girls in 6th - 8th grades can deepen their understanding of what leadership development means and and get excited about guiding others. The Girl's Guide to Girl Scouting for Cadettes includes more information about this award.

The Program Aide Training curriculum is now available online. Talk to your service unit about hosting training for all Cadettes in your area. If you have questions, contact Cindy Beals at (816) 759-3021 or by email.
 Honors Ceremony
Come celebrate with us! The Honors Ceremony is a council-wide ceremony for the 2013 Gold Award recipients. This year, 37 young women will receive the highest award in Girl Scouting. Space is available if you would like to attend the ceremony. This could be a great opportunity for Cadettes to find out more about the Gold Award.

This year's ceremony will be held March 9 at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church at 1600 North 291 Highway in Liberty, Missouri. The ceremony begins at 11:00 am. It is free and open to the public.

The Girl Scout Centennial Silver Dollar
The Girl Scouts of the USA Centennial Commemorative Coin Act, signed into law in 2009, authorized the minting of up to 350,000 silver dollar coins in commemoration of the yearlong celebration of our 100th anniversary.

The coin will be available for sale starting February 28, 2013 noon EST. A surcharge from the sale of each coin is authorized to be paid to Girl Scouts of the USA's national program development and delivery, which helps girls grow into their best selves. And the coolest part? This is the first time the United States Mint has produced a commemorative coin dedicated to a girls' organization!
