June 17, 2016
Hello

The longest day of the year is upon us, Summer Solstice! Here in Fremont we know how to party, so of course we celebrate Summer Solstice all weekend. The Fremont Solstice Fair kicks off today at 5; so be sure to stay in the area after work and enjoy music, food, and drinks. Then tomorrow is the Solstice Parade! The Fremont Fair's craft market will have tons of vendors who's tents will open at 10 am, so come shop, drink, and be merry before the Parade at 3. Music will start at 8 pm Saturday so you can hang out in Fremont til the sun goes down, then do it all over again Sunday.

Don't forget Sunday is Father's Day. Be sure to do something nice for dad, it's all about the little things. If you are a dad have fun being king for a day! Maybe you're family is going to surprises you with your very own dad's day thrown float where they carry you through the parade while feeding you grapes and beer from a goblet. Or maybe you will get another macaroni picture; is that still a thing? Or are kids making gifts these days with 3D printers? If none of this applies celebrate your dad bod today, you're aging like a fine wine.

After a long, reigniting Solstice weekend it's time to get down to business with fresh inspiration. Be sure to attend the Seattle Chambers Business Issues Forum June 21. The agenda will include a discussion of current public affairs issues highlighting a progressive plan for Seattle's small businesses as well as the introduction of the new Director of planning & community development. This is a free event to Seattle Chamber Members. Did you know one of your Fremont Chamber member benefits includes a free membership to the Seattle Metro Chamber? If you would like to take advantage of this great offer and are already a member let us know! If you would like to become a member of the Fremont Chamber and Seattle Chamber today we can get that ball rolling too.

Have a great weekend!

Fremont News

Monday is officially the summer solstice, the day of the year with the most daylight; let's count the ways to celebrate, Fremont-style.

SDOT has completed the DEIS for the Burke-Gilman Trail Extension Project (Missing Link) and has made the document available for public comment.

Since there are plenty of dads who don't fall into that football-loving, beer-guzzling, tie-wearing demographic, here is a list of other stuff to think about for Dad this year (June 19, 2016).

Late last week, the Wallingford Community Council asked its members to deluge city hall over their concerns about the neighborhood's sewage infrastructure and it's inability to keep up with the, uh, demands, that come with more density.

Seattle's hottest new food truck sells adorable, handcrafted baked goods, made fresh with love daily at the crack of dawn.

Ponti's owners, Richard and Sharon Malia, say the reason behind the closure is simple: They're ready to retire.
