June 3, 2016
Hello

I hope you had a fantastic Memorial Day weekend. Can you believe June is already here? June in Fremont means tons o' fun! We already have lot's of events happening this week. Beyond the usual awesome musical options we have each week at Stone Way Cafe and Nectar Lounge, today we have Fremont Art Walk and the Fremont 5k & Briefcase Relay. Registration for the 5k starts at Fremont Brewery, and you get a Brooks shirt with your registration. It's supposed to be a gorgeous day, so whether you choose to run a 5k, stroll through the various art walk venues, or catch some music, you are guaranteed a fun night in Fremont.

The Woodland Park Zoo is also holding some interesting events this week. Tomorrow is Bear Affairs, where mock camp sites are set up in the bear exhibit so viewers can see what happens when you don't properly clean up or bear-proof your campsite. This sounds totally adorable, hilarious, and educational at the same time. If you're a parent plan something fun June 10th because the Zoo is hosting Parents Night Out. Drop your kids at the zoo for a few hours while you go check out that restaurant you've been curious about or that new movie you've been wanting to watch.

June also means Solstice month, and Ninja Escape has a special treat for the naked bike rider in you. If you book a full room at Ninja Escape between June 1-17th and use the promo code NakedNinja you will be entered to win a bike they purchased from Recycled Cycles. They hope the lucky recipient will ride it in the parade. Maybe this is that stroke of courage you need to make this year the year you finally do! Don't forget to donate to the Fremont Arts Council, the non-profit that puts on everyone's favorite Solstice Parade. The Parade doesn't happen without the support of the community!

Last but not least, be sure to Register for Picnic in the Park. Gather for this festive discussion of the Maritime Industry, and how we can support and strengthen this vital economic driver for the betterment of our entire business community. Enjoy delicious fish burgers from Trident Seafood.  This event takes place at Gasworks Park on June 15th; the fun kicks off at 12 pm. Come celebrate Fremont's Working Waterfront with speakers from the Port of Seattle, the City, and the State.

Have a great weekend!
