May 6, 2016
Hello

How is it already May?! This year is cruisin'. We had some technical hiccups last week that prevented the usual Blasting, but we're back again in full swing. Don't forget to register for our Health and Wellness meet-up next Thursday May 12 at Vitality Specific Chiropractic. Also, our second Tech Walk for May will be held May 16th @ 11 am. If you are unfamiliar, as a Fremont Chamber Member we take you to 10 different Fremont tech businesses where you get to prompt your business, events, promotions, etc. on company reader boards for thousands of employees to see; just one of many great reasons to join the Fremont Chamber.  Let me know if you are interested in joining!

I hope you've been able to enjoy some of these early glimpses of summer. I know the Chamber staff sure enjoyed it yesterday. We hit the surf with Mark of Swiftwater Coaching for some rafting, and what an experience it was! Mark's all about hands on learning which is why he started Swiftwater Coaching: an experiential mentoring session to modestly sum it up. He took us all the way out to the Wenatchee river where Caroline, Trisha, and I learned how important it is to work as a team to overcome obstacles. We learned how to guide and power a raft with the help of Mark and two of his guides Katie and Jeremy. We lost Caroline and one point, but Katie swiftly pulled her back into the boat as Trisha and I worked to keep it from flipping. If you think it's time to shake things up in the office and change the surroundings with your staff or coworkers contact Mark to schedule your Swiftwater Coaching session today. You will seriously not regret it; get ready to have some serious fun! Check out photos in this weeks Community Corner of the Blast further down.

One of our members Nalanda West is looking for one or more restaurant who might be interested in donating food for a reception/talk and book signing that they are having May 20th to celebrate their founding teacher Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche's new book "Emotional Rescue". They are working with Compassionate Action Network (CAN) to make this evening free and open to the public. They will include your restaurant's name on the food tables, live program announcements (it will also be webcast), and add your name on the program page of their website, as well as their event program. Over 200 people have already RSVP'd and restaurant/s receive a tax receipt for their donation. CAN is so excited to partner with Nalanda West, and we think this could be an awesome opportunity to collaborate with other businesses in the Fremont area. We hope this will help both CAN and Nalanda West establish some strong partnerships with local businesses, with the added benefit of ensuring the business is given extensive public recognition for their generosity. Give them a call (206.529.8258) or email if you are interested; leave a message for Damayonti or Christina or.

Have a great weekend!
