April 22, 2016
Hello

What glorious weather we've been having; definitely had to pull out the sunscreen this week. I hope you were able to make it to our safety meeting on Wednesday. Next week we have our monthly Fremont Chamber board meeting April 27 with its new start time at 8:30a; feel free to stop by and join the conversation!

Today is Earth Day, and one great way to celebrate here in Fremont is at the showing of 'The Changes Everything' tonight at Nalanda West. This is a free event with suggested donations. Another great way to cut your carbon foot print is by reducing your meat intake. Try out Roxy's Diner new vegetarian and gluten free menu items

The Fremont Arts Council is starting the fundraising process for the Fremont Solstice Parade. If you love the parade be sure to donate to the Fremont Arts Council! The Solstice parade doesn't happen without community support. If you can't imagine Fremont without the Solstice Parade and you have never donated, make this your year! Plus businesses get some sweet benefits when they donate. Contact the Arts Council for more information

The Chamber staff (Myself, Trisha, and Caroline) had a meeting on Thursday to chat with one of our newest members Mark Steelquist of Swiftwater Coaching. His business is all about experiential coaching, and he has offered to take us white water rafting in May as a team building and learning experience. We are all so excited, and I can't wait to tell you all about the experience in the coming weeks. If your friends, family, or staff is in need of a shift in perspective this could be the perfect experience for you. Contact Mark for more details. I will let you know if we make it off the river alive!

Have a great weekend!

The resource library is intended to offer you a one-stop shop for finding information about emergency management. Today's subject: What are we reading?

The linked papers, articles and presentations underscore the need for us to quickly understand the problems we face in a disaster and the importance of thinking 'outside the box' when we are developing solutions to those problems.
