Hello  -

Hope you are all having a wonderful week. It's time to get artsy! We have a lot of art centric activities happening in the Center of the Universe this week. It's the First Friday, and that means Fremont Art walk! Lots of Venues will be displaying art around Fremont. The Fremont Abbey with also have an art exhibit featuring Dan & Madeline Owe Today. If you're feeling creative after all the inspiring artwork, stop by the Power House to help the Fremont Arts Council finalize mini floats for Petit Troll. The Petit Troll Parade will take place at 1 pm during the Fremont Sunday Market. After that stick around and watch Super Bowl 50 at Red Door Alehouse, Ballroom, LTD Bar & Grill, Norm's Eatery, Red Star Taco Bar, Stone Way Cafe, you know the spots.

If you want to sit back and enjoy some art, how about live theater? Seattle Pacific University Theater Department will be putting on 'The Illusion' this weekend. Prelude to a Kiss has also extended for another week!

Saturday will be filled with a writing work shop at the Fremont Abbey; bring your pencils, lap tops, type writers, whatever suits your style! Then later that evening grab your highest heels and feather boas for Gay Bingo at Fremont Studios.

It's Fat Tuesday this week, so lets start it off right. We start Sunday with a Scandinavian Fat Tuesday Baking from Fika class with Anna Brones at the Book Larder and make your own semlor and other Swedish inspired treats. Outlander Brewery is holding a Mardi Gras Celebration Tuesday with spicy beer, New Orleans style music, Cajun food, and beads! Nectar will also hold a Mardi Gras Grateful Dead-Inspired Terrapin Flyer Wednesday. Looks like we will have a reason to party all week, which is necessary as we sloooowly creep out of this winter darkness. It's always good to find activities that keep our energy up during the winter. If you party too hard make sure to check out Vitality Specific for some medical grade massage therapy, our featured business of the week!

It's probably weird for some of you to read the Blast in a voice that isn't Jessica's (who is this chick, what has she done with our Jessica, what does her voice even sound like?!). But have no fear, as some of you may have already seen we are having a Jessica Leap Day Party Monday, February 29 at Red Door Ale House, be sure to register

That's all for now, Fremont. Until next week...

Have a great weekend!

Keep Your Workers' Compensation Costs Under Control!

What do you do when an employee gets hurt? How do you support them while managing costs? Workplace injuries top the list of issues faced by most employers.

How would you like to create a win/win for both your business and your injured worker?

You can do just that by creating a doctor-approved transitional light duty job if your worker is unable to immediately return to their regular job. Why? Studies show that workers heal faster, have less expensive claims, and are able to return to their regular jobs faster. The

Stay at Work Program can reimburse employers for a significant part of the costs during that light-duty assignment!

Information and forms regarding the Stay at Work Program are also available online: http://www.lni.wa.gov/main/stayatwork/
