Dear Friends,

I hope you were all blessed with a wonderful Christmas holiday with family and friends. I truly was. The food is always good, but the company and fellowship is what makes this holiday so special. In the picture is my family including my daughter Abbey, son-in-law Eric, my grand-kids Gabrielle, Noah and Anna as well as me and my husband Tim. We had so much fun together during our Christmas celebration.

May the birth of Jesus shine in your hearts well into the New Year. And, may the new year bring you continued peace and happiness...

Recycle Your Christmas Tree!

Real Christmas trees are a good choice for our environment. However, making sure to recycle your tree after Christmas is part of the sustainable effort. It is important to be sure to remove all decorations from the tree before recycling.

Many cities and municipalities will offer a drop off location or schedule a pick-up date to collect real Christmas trees. Most cities will chip the trees for mulching materials. Watch for a notice in your local newspaper or call your city officials to learn the correct collection dates in your area.

Another idea is to use your tree as a feeding station for wildlife by placing it in your yard for winter. Hang strands of berries, peanuts and popcorn on it as treats for the wild birds. Homemade suet and/or peanut butter and birdseed pinecones are popular with the birds and will also work great to hang on the tree.

If you are in a more rural area with a larger amount of property, the tree can be set out as brush covering for rabbits and other small animals. It will provide protection from harsh weather and predators. Cut Christmas trees can be sunk into lakes or ponds to create cover areas for small fish. They can even be used to slow erosion on creek banks.

Now is a Good Time for Pruning

To minimize damage, and synchronize with the natural growth cycle, prune in the winter months of January and February. Below is a link to an article with some helpful pruning guidelines that is available on the Missouri Department of Conservation website.

Dear Customers,

Landscape Service Property Analysis letters will be coming out after the first of the year. We have had the crews looking over your properties to see if there is anything else you may need that might not have been listed in previous years. We will be offering our recommendations as to what we feel would better enhance your landscaping. You may choose to keep your services the same as they have been, but if you would like us to include more, we will be happy to help. Look over your contract when you receive it and send it back as soon as you can so we can add you on our service schedule for the 2016 season.

Our lawn program will be a little different for 2016 as well. We have change the way we do a few steps and will be using better products to give you and your lawn better results.

Pot Parties: Are the kids getting antsy while stuck inside for winter? Keep them busy for a while by scheduling a Pottery Party! Everyone can create their own piece of pottery. We provide all the materials - all you need to bring is your imagination. Enjoy visiting with friends while you get creative! Ideal for birthday parties, scout groups, home schooled groups, or just a fun get together with family and friends. This is a great activity for all ages! Pot Parties are just $25.00 per person and can host 3 - 12 people.
