Intensify Your Veggie Harvest
Everyone seems to be growing food. Today we choose to grow food for a wide variety of reasons. Primarily it is the responsibility of wanting to put quality food on our own tables. Whatever our reasons for wanting to grow fresh food, we all want to grow top quality vegetables keeping plant disease, insect problems, and work at a minimum, and having an optimized usage of space.
No gardener wants to be a slave to seeding and watering. This is where mulch comes in. By using a 2 to 3" layer of natural mulch, you can reduce weeds by 90% and watering by 50%.

Million Pollinator Garden Challenge
The Million Pollinator Garden Challenge is a campaign to register a million public and private gardens and landscapes to support pollinators. Pollinators are responsible for 1 out of 3 bites of food we take each day, and yet pollinators are at critical point in their own survival. Many reasons contribute to their recent decline. We know for certain, however, that more nectar and pollen sources provided by more flowering plants and trees will help improve their health and numbers. Increasing the number of pollinator-friendly gardens and landscapes will help revive the health of bees, butterflies, birds, bats and other pollinators across the country.
Here's how you can help! From individuals, to schools, community groups, and businesses - everyone can make a difference! BEE Counted! Add a photo of your garden or landscape to the S.H.A.R.E map on the MPGC website. Anyone and any size garden can join in our campaign to reach 1 million sites for pollinators!

St. Louis Water Gardening Society's
2015 Pond-O-Rama
June 27 & 28, 9 am to 5 pm
The St. Louis Water Gardening Society will present its 15th annual water garden and pond tour, Pond-O-Rama, Saturday, June 27, and Sunday, June 28 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. The 2015 self-directed tour includes over 40 private gardens, each owned and maintained by Society members, located throughout the St. Louis metropolitan and Metro East areas. The water features range from spectacular high, thundering waterfalls to quiet streams, some "over the top," some small and private. There are pondless waterfalls that simply disappear at the termination of the falls, and a number of new rain-recovery systems that make the storage and use of rainfall practical. Some owners have enhanced their ponds and gardens into outdoor rooms and quaint woodland spaces. This year you can expect to see some unique and creative designs in waterfalls and ponds, gorgeous koi fish, and fantastic gardens.

Tickets are available to purchase in our Garden Center.
