The Month of June is when we celebrate Father's Day! So, let's do some fun activities for dad!

  Here's a fun craft that you can make  

and give to Dad on Father's Day!

  
Best Dad Trophy Supplies:
Paper or Styrofoam cup              Yellow Paint 
Yellow construction paper           Paintbrush 
Black marker                               Scissors

Glue                                             Newspaper


World's Best Dad trophy craft projectInstructions:

Step 1: Paint the entire cup with yellow paint. Make sure to do the inside too! Set it aside to dry.


Step 2: With yellow construction paper, cut out two handles for your trophy. Measure to make sure they fit nicely for the size of your cup.


Step 3: Use your cup or a spare cup to place upside down on the construction paper. Trace a circle on the construction paper around the top of the cup. Cut out the circle.


Step 4: When the painted cup is dry, use the black marker to write "World's Best Dad" on your cup.


Step 5: Glue the circle you made to the bottom of the cup (face the side with trace lines down). Fold a small section at the ends of the handles and glue one each side of the writing.

 

       Once the glue is all dry the trophy is ready to give to your Dad!

Father's Day Timeline


1910 - Spokane celebrated the first Father's Day on June 19, the anniversary of William Jackson Smart's birthday.

 

1924 - President Calvin Coolidge publicly supported plans for a national Father's Day.

 

1966 - President Lyndon Johnson proclaimed Father's Day to be an official national holiday.

 

1972 - President Richard Nixon signed into law a permanent U.S. Father's Day to be observed on the third Sunday of June.
