Lemonade Stand for United Way

Jack and Luke Haring, accompanied by their mother, Lindsey, dropped off a check with the proceeds from their lemonade stand, which raised over $100 for United Way of San Luis Obispo County! Jack and Luke told their mom that they wanted to donate the money to United Way in honor Allison's Angels, a high school club of Socially Aware Students. Allison LaVogue was killed in an automobile accident in October 2014 at the age of 18. The Allison's Angels club was started at her school, Serrano High School, which performs acts of charity and kindness in her honor.

Thank you, Jack and Luke!
Supporter Spotlights

This month, we're saying thanks to two County of SLO employees for sharing their support of United Way of San Luis Obispo County!

"I choose to give through our Workplace Giving Program, because it's an easy way to donate to my favorite charities. I can't always donate one large lump sum at the end of the year. Giving a little bit each pay period is more convenient for me."

- Whitney Szentesi, Social Media/Communications Analyst, as featured in "The Inside Scoop", a monthly e-Newsletter for county employees

"Giving to the United Way, ho
wever much we choose, is one of the numerous ways we can contribute to our community. We have an impact on each other. We don't always know the persons whose lives we influence or those whose gifts help us. I think that giving and gratitude go hand in hand."

- Christina Chow, Arroyo Grande Regional Manager, County Department of Social Services, as featured on Facebook
