How Much Does It Really Cost?
1/3 of Californians are Struggling to Get By

United Ways of California recently introduced the Real Cost Measure, a basic needs budget approach to better understand the challenges facing California households. One of the key findings from this report is that one in three California households do not have sufficient income to meet their basic costs of living. This is three times the proportion officially considered poor in California, according to the Federal Poverty Level.

Coats for Christmas
Are You Prepared for El Niño?

In early 2016, we can expect wetter than average conditions in SLO County. Warm clothing and rain protection will be imperative, especially for the more than 1500 homeless residing our our small county.

For the past 18 years, community members in San Luis Obispo have generously provided our County's homeless with a home cooked Christmas Day dinner, live entertainment and winter clothing care packages, including sleeping bags, sweatshirts, jackets, ponchos and umbrellas.

Donate today to provide a winter clothing care packages for your neighbors in need. For additional information about the coats for Christmas Day Drive or Christmas Dinner, please contact Sheri Eibschutz at (805) 594-1999.
