Another Successful Kidspree
August 2 was our 17th annual Kidspree, held at the San Luis Obispo and Paso Robles Kohl's. We could not have made this day possible without all of our wonderful volunteers. Over 120 members of the community came out Sunday morning to donate their time and help the children shop. Thanks to our generous donors Zurn, Sesloc, Kiwanis Club of SLO, Rotary Club of SLO Daybreak, Union Bank, Altrusa International Foundation, Specialty Construction, Tennis Warehouse, Tackle Warehouse, Running Warehouse, Oceano/Five Cities Elks Club, Kiwanis of Atascadero and Meathead Movers, 260 local children were sponsored to shop for back to school clothes. That is the largest number of children we have ever had. And a big thank you to Bay-Osos Kiwanis Club and Paso Robles Optimist Club for providing breakfast to the participants, their families and all of the volunteers. Pictures of the event are now up on our Facebook page. Special thank you to our photographers Bob Canepa, Bonnie Ernst, and Julianna Cementina.

Volunteers needed for Stuff the Bus!
|
Stuff the Bus is coming up soon! We are still in need of volunteers to help out at the donation sites. The buses will be in front of Wal-Mart in Paso Robles and Arroyo Grande, Walgreens in Atascadero, and Target in San Luis Obispo from August 17-21. Volunteers are needed at all four locations and on all five days. Volunteers will help collect supplies, organize the bus, and more. If you are interested in helping out with this event please visit our website. This is also a family friendly event so feel free to bring your children along to help and teach them the importance of helping out in the community. Stuff the Bus is sponsored by PG&E, Zurn Industries and KSBY.

Now Accepting Applications for Youth Board
Our Youth Board is now accepting applications for the 2015-16 school year! This unique volunteer experience gives thirty-five students across the county an opportunity to make a direct impact on their peers by addressing the needs in the community and awarding grants to local organizations. They will serve as members of a Board of Directors, giving them a chance to represent the youth in the community, connect with community leaders and provide feedback about youth issues. Students must be in grades 9-12 and are required to commit at least one full term (September through May). Deadline for applications is September 11. For more information or to download an application visit our website. Also, check out the fun music video created by last years students, and see how much they enjoyed being apart of the board.
