Deadline Extended for Youth Board Applications

 Youth Board

Only a couple of spots are left on the 2013-2014 United Way Youth Board! To fill the maximum number of spots, the application deadline has been extended to Friday, September 13, 2013. Students serve as a United Way Board of Directors and are given the opportunity to make a direct impact on their peers by addressing the needs of their community. Board members must live in San Luis Obispo County, be high school age, and commit to attending one meeting each month.

Learn more about the program and download an application online at www.unitedwayslo.org/youthboard. Questions and applications can be submitted to youthboard@unitedwayslo.org

We are recruiting volunteers to help us raise money for Imagination Library:
- Porter/Package Check. For only $5, volunteers check in purchases so guests can continue to shop, and then porters help load your car when they are ready to pick up their treasures. For every 10 guests who use this service, an additional child is sponsored for Imagination Library!
- Shop Camp Remnants. Proceeds from merchandise sales support early learning in SLO County through the Imagination Library.

Volunteer opportunities are available November 7-8, 2013 from 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM and November 9-10, 2013 from 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM, in 4-hour time slots. Volunteering also gets you free entrance to the show!

Imagination Library, founded by Country Superstar, Dolly Parton, provides free, new age-appropriate books to children every month from ages 0-5.
