KidSpree: We are still accepting donations for the 17th Annual KidSpree on July 28, 2013. Help us reach our goal of providing new back-to-school shopping adventures at Kohl's for 200 deserving students! Participants receive a $100 Kohl's gift card and shop with a caring adult volunteer. Stuff the Bus: From August 2-9, we need your help to literally Stuff the Bus with school supplies at Office Max in Arroyo Grande, San Luis Obispo, and Paso Robles. Volunteers are needed to help collect and sort school supply donations from 4:00-7:00 on weekdays, and 12:00-4:00 PM on the weekend. New for 2013: All SLO County businesses are invited to participate in our Collection Site Contest! We invite you to host your own Stuff the Bus school supply drop off site at your workplace. And be creative- the site with the best decorations will win a prize! To enter the contest, simply tweet a photo to @uwsloc or post on facebook.com/unitedwayslo by 3 PM on August 2, 2012. Tee It Up for a Good Cause!

Join us at the 2013 ExxonMobil United Way Golf Tournament on Friday, August 16 at the River Course at The Alisal in Solvang, CA.

The four person scramble shot gun start begins at 8:30 AM. Entry fee is $130 per golfer and prizes are awarded for closest to the pin and long drives. Early Learning Connection

Coming up on Friday, July 26, United Way of San Luis Obispo County will host another free grandparent reading circle and Born Learning Trail tour. These reading and discovery times will take place at the SLO Senior Citizens Center in Mitchell Park (1445, Santa Rosa Street, San Luis Obispo, CA 93401) from 10:00 A.M. - 11:00 A.M on the last Friday of each month during the summer, July 26th, and August 30th. This fun event is open to all children, parents, grandparents, and family members. For more information call (805) 541-1234.

Youth Board Accepting Applications

Youth Board

The United Way Youth Board is now accepting applications for the 2013-2014 Board. The Youth Board is a unique volunteer experience that gives youth the control and responsibility of their projects. Students serve as a United Way Board of Directors and are given the opportunity to make a direct impact on their peers by addressing the needs of their community. Board members must live in San Luis Obispo County, be high school age, and commit to attending one meeting each month.
