Volunteer with United Way this Summer!

June: UWSLOC has once again partnered with Remnants of the Past antique show, June 1-2, 2013 at the Alex Madonna Expo Center. Volunteers will be porters for vendors and customers, work at the package check station, sell special jute tote bags, brand new Camp Remnants merchandise, and Doc Burnstein's ice cream. Proceeds from all of these activities support our Imagination Library program, plus volunteers also receive free entrance to the show. Email Jill LeMieux at volunteer@unitedwayslo.org to sign up.

July: Save the date for our 17th Annual Kidspree on July 28, 2013! Volunteers will shop with nominated kids for much needed back to school clothing at Kohl's San Luis Obispo and Paso Robles. Fingerprinting is required for all volunteers, and is free. Email kidspree@unitedwayslo.org to sign up. Also, don't forget you can sponsor a child for this amazing experience for $100!

August: From August 2-9, we need your help to literally Stuff the Bus with school supplies at Office Max in Arroyo Grande, San Luis Obispo, and Paso Robles. Email stuffthebus@unitedwayslo.org for more information.

Annual Recognition Event

All donors, advocates and volunteers are invited to United Way of San Luis Obispo County's Annual Recognition Event on Wednesday, June 12th from 5:00-7:00 PM at the Monday Club. We will honor our business and individual awards, and our Community Impact Fund grant recipients. Please RSVP by May 31st.

Youth Board Accepting Applications

Youth Board

The United Way Youth Board is now accepting applications for the 2013-2014 Board. The Youth Board is a unique volunteer experience that gives youth the control and responsibility of their projects. Students serve as a United Way Board of Directors and are given the opportunity to make a direct impact on their peers by addressing the needs of their community. Board members must live in San Luis Obispo County, be high school age, and commit to attending one meeting each month.
