Abella's School of Dance Offers Adult Tap Class
Starting August 19th
Have you always wanted to learn how to tap dance but could never think of a good reason to start? The benefits of tap are many. It helps develop stamina, coordination, and flexibility plus it's a lot of fun!
The weekly adult tap class from
6:15 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. costs $65 per month. Registration is on a first come, first served basis and classes are open to both new and experienced dancers. Pre-registration is recommended. Email your name and phone number to [email protected]

Series of town halls will offer the community Celebrate 450! Q&A opportunities
As the days countdown to Celebrate 450! the city has announced a series of community town halls that offer opportunities for one-on-one question-and-answer sessions regarding the event. Celebrate 450! is the five-day long, culminating event of St. Augustine's 450th Commemoration scheduled for September 4-8, 2015.
Celebrate 450! planning teams have put massive work into nailing down the details, but welcoming neighborhood residents and merchant input is vital to ensure a successful event. All the town halls are open to the public and have been set in various locations to promote access by all of the community.
- Visitor Information Center will be on Tuesday, July 7 at 6:00pm, and
- Blackfly Restaurant, Anastasia Blvd on Tuesday, July 14 at 5:30pm.

Saint Augustine Ballet to Hold Auditions for The Nutcracker Saturday, August 15, 2015
Location: Abella's School of Dance.

Call to Artists for Last Exit: Painting at The Bakehouse Art Complex - Miami, FL (Deadline: August 1)
The Bakehouse Art Complex offers affordable studio and shared workshop spaces, artist advancement and exhibition opportunities to professional emerging and mid-career artists. For its September exhibition, Last Exit: Painting, artists are invited to submit artworks addressing painting and its current relevance. Call to Artists for American Craft Today: Glass - Highlands, NC (Deadline: July 3)
On view September 5 through December 6, 2015, this juried exhibition showcases art glass produced by America's most skilled and visionary craftspeople. Any type of glass art is eligible as long as the primary medium is glass. The juror is Melissa George Post. A total of $5,500 will be awarded. Call to Artists for Embracing Our Differences 2016 - Sarasota & Bradenton, FL (Deadline: January 4)
Embracing Our Differences invites all artists to participate in its 13th annual outdoor art exhibit celebrating diversity and inclusion. 39 artists will be selected, and national and international submissions are encouraged. Final selections will be made by a three-judge panel of professional artists, curators, and art professionals and based on artistic excellence and originality in the reflection of the theme "enriching lives through diversity." $3,000 in awards will be presented. There is no submission fee nor limit on the number of entries. The exhibition will be held in April and May at Sarasota's Island Park and Bradenton's Riverwalk. For more info, visit here .

Call to Artists for Space Coast Art Festival Poster Contest - Port Canaveral, FL (Deadline: August 17)
The Space Coast Art Festival is accepting submissions for its poster contest. All work must be unpublished, original art created since
2013. Artwork can be any reproducible two-dimensional work

Call to Visual Artists for 2015 Miami Photo Salon Second Edition, Miami, FL (Deadline: August 8)
Miami Photo Salon is an International Photography Festival that takes place during Art Basel week every year. The goal of this project is to create a salon-style event for photographers to showcase and exhibit work to huge international audiences. This event will take place at Spectrum Art Fair in Downtown Miami, where foot traffic between visiting art fairs will bring in thousands of visitors. Dates for the event: December 1-6, 2015. The St. Augustine Historical Society Research Library is looking for volunteers with computer experience to help archive their photo collection. Volunteers scan and document the images so they can be added to the online catalog. Other computer related projects are available as well. The Research Library is located in the Segui Kirby-Smith House (the old public library) on Aviles Street. Parking for library volunteers is at the Oldest House on Charlotte and St. Francis Street.
