The "Battle of Bloody Mose" Commemoration

June 20th -21st

 

Part of Florida Living History, Inc.'s (FLH's) 2015 "St. Augustine's 450th Anniversary" commemorations, this 275th anniversary historical re-enactment of the 1740 Spanish victory at the "Battle of Bloody Mose" features a two-day military encampment and combined muster of FLH's re-enactors and the Fort Mose Militia, as well as British and Scottish living-history troops from across the Southeast and local volunteers.

See demonstrations by Cherokee Native Historians from 11 am until 4 pm.  Listen and learn about how the Southeastern Cherokee nation interacted with the Timucua tribes in the area for centuries before the arrival of the Europeans.
