St. Johns County District 1 Commissioner Meet and Greet
James K. Johns, St. Johns County Commissioner, is hosting a District 1 Meet and Greet from 6 to 8 p.m. on June 15 at the St. Johns County Northwest Annex, 725 Flora Branch Blvd. The meeting will provide District 1 residents with the opportunity to meet Commissioner Johns and provide feedback regarding county programs, initiatives, facilities, and other topics not currently on a Board of County Commission agenda. Residents of District 1 are cordially invited to attend and participate in the informal question and answer session and provide Commissioner Johns with insight into what they believe are the priorities for their district and St. Johns County as a whole. Show your Spirit for the 450th Commemoration!
The City of St. Augustine is encouraging downtown residents and businesses to decorate their locations in celebration of the City's 450th Anniversary. And to help, the city is offering locals the opportunity to purchase bunting and Spanish flags at a reduced cost negotiated through the city's bid purchasing process. You can review items available for purchase and unit costs on the flier here. Please allow a minimum of two to three weeks for delivery once an order has been placed.
To ensure the correct pricing is honored when placing an order, please reference BID #GS2015-14. The corresponding color codes are: RED #186C and YELLOW #116C.

Saint Augustine Ballet to Hold Auditions for The Nutcracker Saturday, August 15, 2015

Audition for High School Musical Limelight Theatre Camp

Sing along to "We're All in This Together" and "Get'cha Head in the Game" during High School Musical Summer Camp at Limelight Theatre.
Six through twelfth graders can become students at East High for the summer! Students will audition on the first day of camp, learn choreography, music and blocking, rehearse, and perform in Disney's popular show! Call to Artists for Last Exit: Painting at The Bakehouse Art Complex - Miami, FL (Deadline: August 1)
The Bakehouse Art Complex offers affordable studio and shared workshop spaces, artist advancement and exhibition opportunities to professional emerging and mid-career artists. For its September exhibition, Last Exit: Painting, artists are invited to submit artworks addressing painting and its current relevance. Call to Artists for American Craft Today: Glass - Highlands, NC (Deadline: July 3)
On view September 5 through December 6, 2015, this juried exhibition showcases art glass produced by America's most skilled and visionary craftspeople. Any type of glass art is eligible as long as the primary medium is glass. The juror is Melissa George Post. A total of $5,500 will be awarded. Exhibition will be held at The Bascom Center for the Visual Arts (323 Franklin Road Highlands, NC 28741). For more info, visit here.

Call to Artists for The Decatur Artway - Decatur, GA (Deadline: June 22)
The Decatur Artway kicks off this year as Decatur's outdoor art gallery, featuring five selected sculptures scattered throughout the downtown square. Sculptures will be displayed on temporary loan for two years, creating a dynamic rotating collection of public art around town. Selected artists will be awarded an honorarium of $2000. The installed work may be available for sale. Artwork sold as a result of the Decatur Artway will be subjet to a 20% commission, which will be deducted from the purchase price and retained by the Decatur Arts Alliance. For more info, visit here.

Call to Artists for Embracing Our Differences 2016 - Sarasota & Bradenton, FL (Deadline: January 4)
Embracing Our Differences invites all artists to participate in its 13th annual outdoor art exhibit celebrating diversity and inclusion. 39 artists will be selected, and national and international submissions are encouraged. Final selections will be made by a three-judge panel of professional artists, curators, and art professionals and based on artistic excellence and originality in the reflection of the theme "enriching lives through diversity." $3,000 in awards will be presented. There is no submission fee nor limit on the number of entries. The exhibition will be held in April and May at Sarasota's Island Park and Bradenton's Riverwalk. For more info, visit here .

2013. Artwork can be any reproducible two-dimensional work

Call to Artists for Melbourne Main Street Mural Contest - Melbourne, FL (Deadline: June 30)
Melbourne Main Street welcomes all artists to the 2015 "Paint the Town" Mural contest. Their goal is to transform Downtown Melbourne into a vibrant art destination with help from the local art community. They will be accepting submissions from now until June 30th, 2015. All murals are set to be complete by Friday, September 25th, 2015, when there will be an official unveiling and artist reception. Submit as a team, with your class, or on your own. Call to Visual Artists for 2015 Miami Photo Salon Second Edition, Miami, FL (Deadline: August 8)
Miami Photo Salon is an International Photography Festival that takes place during Art Basel week every year. The goal of this project is to create a salon-style event for photographers to showcase and exhibit work to huge international audiences. This event will take place at Spectrum Art Fair in Downtown Miami, where foot traffic between visiting art fairs will bring in thousands of visitors. Dates for the event: December 1-6, 2015. The St. Augustine Historical Society Research Library is looking for volunteers with computer experience to help archive their photo collection. Volunteers scan and document the images so they can be added to the online catalog. Other computer related projects are available as well. The Research Library is located in the Segui Kirby-Smith House (the old public library) on Aviles Street. Parking for library volunteers is at the Oldest House on Charlotte and St. Francis Street.
