Open to: This professional development workshop is free and open to artists of all levels and disciplines.

 

The "Copyright or Wrong?" Workshop presented by artist-attorney Deborah Reid and artist Barbara Fryefield  explains copyright law in a fun and accessible way.   Hands-on exercises demonstrating  copyright concepts are woven into an interactive lecture illustrated with work by contemporary artists and recent popular culture cases.   Urban myths about copyright are debunked. Participants will take away an informed understanding of copyright law's application to their creative endeavors.

The Florida Alliance for Arts Education 2015 Leadership SUMMIT

This year's Summit focuses on pivotal interests of all Florida arts educators, school and arts organization administrators, teaching artists, and arts education advocates.  We'll hear amazing stories of how the arts are impacting, not only education in some Florida schools, but also our creative economy, and community renewal -- and what you can do in your own setting! The inaugural recipients of the prestigious Florida Arts Model Schools award will be showcased in mini-concerts throughout the Summit.  Meet some of Florida's amazing teaching artists during the Teaching Artists Showcase.  We'll also tour the newest gem in Orlando's skyline:  the beautiful Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts.

Call to Visual Artists for 2015 Miami Photo Salon Second Edition, Miami, FL (Deadline: August 8)

Miami Photo Salon is an International Photography Festival that takes place during Art Basel week every year. The goal of this project is to create a salon-style event for photographers to showcase and exhibit work to huge international audiences. This event will take place at Spectrum Art Fair in Downtown Miami, where foot traffic between visiting art fairs will bring in thousands of visitors. Dates for the event: December 1-6, 2015. Entry fee is $45 and is non-refundable and non-transferable. Multiple entries or different bodies of work are allowed, as well as collaborations. For more info, visit here. 


Aaron Siskind Foundation Invites Applications for 2015 Indiviual Photographer's Fellowships (Deadline: May 29)

The Aaron Siskind Foundation is accepting applications for the 2015 Individual Photographer's Fellowships. A limited number of fellowship grants of up to $10,000 each will be awarded to artists working in photography and photo-based art. Qualified applicants must provide a portfolio of still photography of any subject matter, genre, or process. For more info, visit here

 The Hardee Center for the Arts in Madison, Florida is calling for entries for the 2015/16 exhibition season. They are welcoming submissions of all 2D and small 3D works. Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation Accepting Applications for Observers Program (Deadline: May 15)

The Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation is accepting applications from emerging directors and choreographers to observe the work of master directors and choreographers as they create productions on Broadway, Off-Broadway, and at leading regional theaters across the country. Each observer receives a weekly stipend of at least $225 as well as a project travel stipend.
