Deadline to Submit Your Event for VCB Calendar

 

The deadline to submit your events for inclusion in the VCB's printed calendar for the destination is Friday, April 17. This calendar will include events from June 1 through October 31, 2015.  

 

For your event to be included in the Summer/Fall printed calendar, which is distributed throughout the destination and at Florida Welcome Centers, please submit event information including the event name, date, times, cost,  brief description and consumer contact information to FHCEventlist@gmail.com.

 

In addition to the printed calendar the VCB online calendar is updated each week and includes additional event listings.

  

You can also submit your event listings for free to other area outlets including:

St. Johns Cultural Council - Sign in with your user name and password to create an account and submit your event information.

St. Augustine Music Festival 
Kickstarter Campaign

The St. Augustine Music Festival is in the midst of a Kickstarter campaign to fund an orchestral composition celebrating the 450th Anniversary of St. Augustine.  Composer Piotr Szewczyk's four-movement "St. Augustine Suite" for chamber orchestra will be premiered June 27 in the St. Augustine Cathedral Basilica. 

 

The fund-raising campaign runs through April 27, and may be accessed at www.StAugustineMusicFestival.org

ART MUNDO

Time is drawing near for the ART MUNDO Call for Art Exhibition, one of the most active for our VSA FL Artists.  Please click here for details, application information and the ENTRY FORM. There is NO FEE for entry.

 

You do not want to miss out on this opportunity to both show and sell your work. The deadline for delivery of art work in person is on May 3 or May 6. Art in Odd Places (AiOP) Orlando invites proposals for the Orlando AiOP, a visual and performance public art festival to take place on September 17-20 in downtown Orlando, Florida. AiOP welcomes proposals and artworks that engage and collaborate with the public and public spaces from artists of all disciplines, experiences and mediums. Call to Artists for Third Annual Knoxville Photo 2015 in Knoxville, TN (Deadline: April 26)

The Arts & Culture Alliance of Greater Knoxville announces a call for photographic works for its third annual Knoxville Photo 2015. Approximately 40-50 photographic works from both emerging and established artists will comprise the exhibition in the main gallery of the Emporium Center from June 5-17, 2015. Entries must be original works completed within the last two years in the following categories: The Human Experience, Our Earth, Travel, and Digital Imagination. Nicholas Simmons Three Day Workshop in Watercolor and Acrylics (May 1)

Sponsored by the Tallahassee Watercolor Society in conjunction with the 27th Annual Tri-State Juried Water Media Exhibition, renowned artist Nicholas Simmons will be hosting a three day workshop in watercolor and acrylics on May 1. The cost is $350 for TWS members and $380 for non-members. Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation Accepting Applications for Observers Program (Deadline: May 15)

The Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation is accepting applications from emerging directors and choreographers to observe the work of master directors and choreographers as they create productions on Broadway, Off-Broadway, and at leading regional theaters across the country. Each observer receives a weekly stipend of at least $225 as well as a project travel stipend. Harpo Foundation Seeks Applications for New Work Grants (Deadline: April 29)

The Harpo Foundation is inviting Letters of Inquiry for its 2015 New Work Project Grants program. Through the annual program, grants of up to $10,000 are awarded to nonprofit organizations in support of new work by under-recognized artists age 21 or older. ROMANZA OFFERS HIGH SCHOOL APPLICANTS SCHOLARSHIPS FOR PERFORMING ARTS

Deadline: May 1, 2015

Romanza's 2015 Scholarships will be awarded to two graduating seniors enrolled at St. Augustine High School or the St. Johns County Center of the Arts who plan to major in performing arts at the college level.  Two $500 scholarships will be awarded this year, and students should contact their Counselor if they are interested in obtaining an Application.

National Endowment for the Humanities' Preservation and Access Education and Training Grants (Deadline: May 5)

  Preservation and Access Education and Training grants are awarded to organizations that offer national or regional (multistate) education and training programs. Grants aim to help the staff of cultural institutions, large and small, obtain the knowledge and skills needed to serve as effective stewards of humanities collections.
