President's Message
Summer is here, and ADAO is excited to fill you in on what's been happening! As we all know, there is incredible power in the idea of sharing, and ADAO is embracing this ethos in its education, advocacy, and community support initiatives this summer. Every personal story you submit, every petition signature you sign, every friend you share potentially life-saving information with, you are making a difference. ADAO is celebrating a "Summer of Sharing Makes Us Stronger" for this reason: each and every one of you has something valuable to contribute to the community, and we encourage you to do so!
On our end, ADAO has been and will continue to focus on sharing YOUR stories. Thank you to the courageous individuals who have contributed to the Share Your Story collection to date! Your stories are used to raise asbestos awareness within our ADAO community and as powerful examples when demonstrating the impact of asbestos in Congress.
ADAO is eager to support Mesothelioma Action Day (UK) on July 3 and looks forward to strengthening its domestic and international partnerships and uniting in action this month.
And, you can be sure that ADAO is on top of any news regarding asbestos-related legislation currently being discussed in Congress: TSCA Reform, the READ Act, and the FACT Act! Thank you to those of you that joined us for our first Legislative Conference Call with Dr. Richard Lemen! ADAO will remain ardently dedicated to protecting asbestos victims and public health, including hosting an asbestos Congressional Staff Briefing on July 15. Please encourage attendance by calling your lawmaker's office today! (More info on ADAO Legislative Positions here.)
ADAO looks forward to seeing what you share during this summer's "Summer of Sharing Makes Us Stronger!"
