Prevent Immigration Scams
|
As debate about immigration reform continues in Congress, it's more important than ever for immigrant communities to beware of scams. Even well-meaning helpers can put immigrants at risk of deportation or prevent them from getting a visa or citizenship in the future. The wrong help can hurt. Only two kinds of people are allowed to help with immigration cases: 1. immigration lawyers
2. representatives at nonprofit organizations who are accredited by the Board of Immigration Appeals
Everyone else is breaking the law and potentially putting people at risk.
