MOTHER'S DAY
MAY 8, 2016 

To celebrate mothers on their special day, the Children's Museum is offering all moms half-price admission on Mother's Day (Sunday, May 8). Moms and their children can explore the galleries together and make memories that will last a lifetime. There will also be a keepsake handprint craft available from 11:00AM to 3:00PM.
 
MANITOBA DAY
MAY 12, 2016

Join us for Manitoba Day on Thursday, May 12 and save! All community-themed school programs will be available at a special discounted price of $4.00 per student per program. Celebrate our prairie province by creating your own bison puppet and participating in themed story times at 11:00AM and 1:00PM.

VOLUNTEER INFORMATION SESSION MAY 12, 2016 

The Children's Museum is looking for volunteers to assist with our upcoming summer programming. Are you fun, creative, and interested in making a difference? Help spark kids' creative learning - become a Children's Museum volunteer today or share this message with someone you know! Prospective volunteers need to complete an online application. As online applications are received, prospective volunteers are contacted, registered to attend an information session, and given information about specific volunteer roles at the Children's Museum.

Members and their guests (up to two free guests per active member) are invited to join us on Friday, May 20 for exclusive after-hours access to the museum's 12 interactive galleries, plus a special sneak peek of our new 2016 travelling exhibition, Kids Celebrate! Event attendees will also have the opportunity to create a pop-up calendar craft and mark all the special events they celebrate and also enter a draw for a Children's Museum membership.

KIDS CELEBRATE!

Kids Celebrate! plunges guests into the midst of 12 celebrations that bring families together throughout the seasons in Canada's many cultural communities. Calendars in hand, discover the dances, foods, decorations, and costumes that make each of these holidays memorable.

Through creative activities, roleplaying, and interactive challenges, guests can explore the lively traditions that build ties between generations while helping to pass down collective cultural values.   

*GRAND OPENING EVENT*
On Saturday, May 21, join us from 11:00AM to 3:00PM to begin the festivities! Special guest DJ Mama Cutsworth will be kicking off the celebration at 11:30AM with an energizing family dance party. Jive, shake, and wiggle and show us how you celebrate!

THEATRE+ ARTS PASS   

TAP into the Arts with the Winnipeg Public Library's Theatre+ Arts Pass, and discover new experiences in theatre and the arts!

The Theatre+ Arts Pass gives Winnipeggers who might not otherwise be able to attend arts programs (such as those with limited income) a chance to experience the city's vibrant arts community - and now includes general admission opportunities at the Children's Museum. Passes are available at select branches to ensure geographic access for those who may encounter barriers to experiencing the arts. Passes are available on the first of the month (or when the Library is next open), and are available on a first-come, first-served basis - all you need is a Winnipeg Public Library card.

It's Canada's birthday! Come join us at the Children's Museum on July 1 from 11:00AM to 3:00PM to cool off and spend some time creating your very own Canadian beaver puppet. Learn some fun Canadian facts and celebrate Canada's 149th birthday.

The Children's Museum's extended summer hours begin on July 1 and run until September 5, 2016. Join us daily from 9:30AM to 6:00PM all summer long!
