Mazel Tov to Rachael Pass
I have some exciting news to share with you today. As you may or may not know, Rachael Pass, our Youth Engagement Director, has always hoped to become a rabbi. She applied to Hebrew Union College and just learned that she has been accepted into their program! We are thrilled for Rachael and wish her much success as she embarks on the next phase of her career. Her last day with TST will be May 25 as she will be spending the summer in Israel.

Given the many changes with our Education team, please be assured that we are working on plans for next year, and our teens will be well cared for. If you have any questions please let me or Steve Rosenstein, our VP of Education know. Please join me in wishing Rachael a hearty Mazel Tov on her accomplishment!
Help us celebrate and wish Rachael well on Sunday, May 15 at the End of Year BBQ and on Wednesday, May 18 at the AISH Final Night Celebration.

Passover Seder Matching
Once again,TST is helping to connect members who may not have a place at a table for the first or second seders. This a wonderful opportunity to strengthen our Shir Tikva community, for you to meet new friends or reconnect with those you already know.

If you would like to join another family for a Passover seder, please let Karen Edwards, kedwards@shirtikva.org, 508-358-9992,  know by April 11,  which night and how many people are in your family.

If you have room at your seder table for additional guests, please let us know which night and how many you have room for at your table, so we can create a match for you.
Temple Shir Tikva Self-Study Congregation Meeting
Monday, May 2, 7-9 p.m.
Temple Shir Tikva Self-Study
As we embark on the next steps of our journey toward finding a senior rabbi for the temple, it is critical that we follow best practices, as well as embrace this unique opportunity to come together as a community, by conducting a self-study in which we listen to one another and assess who we are and what we want in our future leader. There are many ways for us to gather this information, and I want to alert you to all of them.

Adult Education Presents: A Middle East Assessment with
Steven A. Cook

Friday, April 15, 7:30 p.m.
The Arab uprisings were met with exhilaration and hope that decades-old dictatorships would be transformed into democracies. It has not worked out that way as authoritarianism, extremism, violence, and uncertainty have buffeted the region.

Why? Steven A. Cook, the Eni Enrico Mattei Senior Fellow for Middle East and Africa Studies at the Council on Foreign Relations, will answer this question and offer his sobering assessment of the future direction of the Middle East and the U.S. position in it.

We are honored to have Shaykh Yasir F. Fahmy,Imam of the Islamic Society of Boston Cultural Center speak to us on: What is Islam?

At this critical time when the media is full of disparate voices having much to say about what Islam is, and often characterizing it in simplistic and misleading ways, Shaykh Yasir Fahmy will present an introduction to the religion in a holistic sense, leading to informed understanding of the faith.
