Kallah 2015:  Kumzitz

Sunday, March 15, 4 p.m.

Women's Kallah: Can you (and your sewing machine) join us?

This week, your personal invitation to join us for the Women's Kallah!

Registration is easy at www.shirtikva.org/kallah2015.

Our theme this year is "Kumzitz" - the Yiddish word for singing around the summer camp-fire. It reflects joy and connection, music and friendship. Workshop offerings this year include a hands-on craft, yoga and chanting, Yiddish women's poetry, and will conclude with a camp song-session and s'mores!

Do you have a sewing machine that we can use for one of the workshops? The sewing machines have to be in good working condition and preferably have the ability to sew both straight lines and a zig-zag, and have a bobbin in the bobbin case.   Please let Beth Nadel Dorfman know if you can help at idecorate@comcast.net.  Thank you!

Mitzvah Project for Justin and Jared Lista

Please help Justin & Jared Lista with their Bar Mitzvah project to support displaced and homeless families of Natick and Framingham in need of assistance

Family Services Coalition is an all-volunteer coalition that provides a wide range of services to meet the needs of homeless families placed in local motels.

Due to recent cuts in state and federal housing there has been a substantial increase in homelessness in Massachusetts. Currently, an average of nearly 2,100 homeless families each night is housed by the state in motel rooms. We are asking for your help to assist 60 families residing in local Natick and Framingham hotels.

During February and March we will be organizing a collection campaign to assist these families in our community. Working with Family Services Coalition our goal is to collect toiletries * for distribution to these families who are in need of our assistance.

Our hope is for you to help these families with your donation of toiletries * . * Body Soap, deodorant, body lotion, shampoo, conditioner, tooth-brush, toothpaste, Floss.

There will be a box located in the TST lobby during February and March to collect your donations.

Hope and Comfort

Help low income and homeless adults and families improve their health and self-esteem. Hope and Comfort (www.hopeandcomfort.org) is looking for new, full size SOAP, SHAMPOO, DEODORANT, TOOTHPASTE, and TOOTHBRUSHES.  Hope and Comfort (H&C), a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization started by TST member Jeff Feingold and his family in 2011, distributes personal care products to adults and children in need.  Far too many children and adults in MA and beyond wake up each morning without access to basic personal hygiene products that keep them feeling healthy and confident. Hope and Comfort has delivered over 55,000 items to more than 60 partner organizations, including JF&CS Family Table on a regular basis since 2011. With your help, H&C can give away over 50,000 additional items in 2015 and over 1 million items by 2020.

Please join us in improving the health and self-esteem of adults and children in need by donating new, full size SOAP, SHAMPOO, DEODORANT, TOOTHPASTE, and TOOTHBRUSHES.

Donated items can be placed in the Hope and Comfort bin located outside the main office at TST.

Thank you for your contribution!
