Exciting Changes Coming to High Holy Day Services!

The Central Conference of American Rabbis has developed a new, updated version of the Reform movement prayer book for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur that the Shir Tikva Ritual Committee is considering purchasing.

We will have an opportunity to "test drive" parts of this new and exciting book during the  Ne'ilah (conclusion of Yom Kippur) services. During this service a draft edition of the new prayerbook will be distributed and used. We will join together as one congregation to experience what should be an exciting experience as we explore together new liturgy and readings that will uplift and enhance our communal worship experience.

We encourage you to attend this service so that you can experience the vibrant enhancements that will make our High Holy Day experience truly special. Upon the completion of the High Holy Days we will all have an opportunity give feedback and have a thoughtful discussion about these parts of the new Machzor.

We look forward to everyone's participation in this collaborative experiment.

Facilitated by Dr. Max Klau, Powered by You

Connect monthly with other parents of teens in a gathering designed to explore the blessings and challenges of parenting.  This will NOT be a lecture or training experience, in which participants passively receive knowledge or skills from an "expert". Rather, it will be a space for reflection and discussion in which parents can explore their parenting challenges with fellow congregants in a space devoted to learning (not to problem solving).

To learn more, talk with facilitator, Dr. Max Klau - Shir Tikva congregant and chair of our AISH committee - on two conference call options:

11:00-11:30 a.m. on Tues, Oct. 7

1:00-1:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 17

Call in #: 605-475-6720

Our first gathering will be October 22 (Please note the date change from previously published October 1).
